June 12 - The Rule of Law and Reaching for The Moon

Our agenda today started by taking a group picture in Roanoke Star. It is a nice place to visit because it is an icon for the city of Roanoke. Besides, it is located in relatively high place so we can see almost all the buildings and the roads in Roanoke.

After taking group picture, we went to Roanoke Public Library to have our first session. The first session would be a presentation about The Rule of Law presented by a lawyer. This session ran very well. We all enjoyed listening to the explanation about law. The lawyer told us a nice story which was about democracy. We learned that democracy is still not running well in some areas. We also learned the hierarchy of democracy which the law is made actually made by citizen, while the government is the one who rules it. At the end of the session, we had a group picture with the lawyer.

At the same day, we had another session with the Executive Director of Legacy International, Dr. Ira Kaufmann. This session is titled by Reaching for the Moon and Holding It. Mr. Kaufmann presented very well so we could understand all the things he talked about. He told us about a story whose the conclusion is about dare to dream high. This session was great because it was so interactive.
